Description

MJT Nevados S was ridden during the first two years of his career by Jacek Zagor, with their partnership culminating in two Polish Young Horse Championship titles in show jumping—first in the 4-year-old category (scores: 9.2 and 8.8), and then in the 5-year-old category (scores: 8.4 / 8.6 / 8.8).

He later continued his career under Grégory Wathelet. In 2015, they achieved a major success together—winning the World Championship for 7-year-old horses in Lanaken. The following seasons were equally successful. After victories in Paris, Waregem, Liège, and Prague, Nevados became European Team Champion in Rotterdam in 2019. In 2020, he won the team bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

From his first two crops come, among others: Donna Neva S – Polish Young Horse Champion and a top performer in international young horse classes; Fabregas S – an approved stallion in PZHK and BWP; Farys P – the highest-ranked Polish-bred horse at the Polish Show Jumping Championship in Olsza 2020; and Capella – champion of the Polish Sport Horse studbook.

His sire, Calvados Z, ridden by Roelof Bril, won the 5-year-old category at the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken in 2006, and finished 9th the following year. As a 7-year-old, he placed 4th—just 0.4 seconds behind the winner. In later seasons, he successfully competed at international level under Judy-Ann Melchior and Christian Ahlmann.

His dam, Nestia S, was bred at SK Liszkowo and represents the Holsteiner family 930, which has produced stallions such as Caspariano and Reichsgraf (damsire of Contendro and Caretano), as well as sport horses including Dega, Vermont Star, Crazy Boy, and Caught In Action.
Nestia S is by the Dutch stallion Romualdo, a horse with an extensive international career. He began in Poland, winning medals at the Polish Young Horse Championships and competing at the World Championships for Young Horses in Lanaken, as well as earning a silver medal in the Polish Indoor Cup. Until 2010, he was ridden by Holger Hetzel, achieving strong results at the German Championships in Balve and at international shows in Dortmund, Munich, Vienna, Salzburg, Graz, Humlikon, Wellington, Modena, Gera, and Marignano. From 2011, he was ridden by Mario Stevens, with whom he won a 150 cm class at CSI4* Braunschweig and a 145 cm class at CSI3* Kiel.

Offspring

The first crops of Nevados’ offspring are now entering world ranking competitions, showing significant scope and very good jumping technique.
